Real Talk is moving to RossMichelPublishing.com on December 1, 2011. Not only is this blog moving but it also taking on a new swag and a new name – The Blunt.

Here’s what you can expect…

THE WORD BLUNT is slang for a cigar filled with marijuana. However, we flipped the script by naming our new blog The Blunt. Our Blunt is a blog that is filled with information and entertainment (infotainment) geared toward the global Black community.

The other blunt gets you high off the herbal substance. Our Blunt gets you high off knowledge, wisdom and truth. Not only will it get you high it will stimulate you into elevating your spirit, mind and well-being.

The Blunt author, R. Renee, gives readers her “tell it like it is” perspective on everything from politics and entertainment to relationships and spirituality. Her writing style is a mix of smarts, edge, humor and raw truth.

The Blunt is for all the open-minded, truth-seekers within the global Black family who dare to “think outside the box”.

The Blunt offers infotainment that caters to the whole person through multiple formats including articles, videos and podcasts.

10 of the Most Beautiful Men in the World (2010 Edition)

Real Talk Magazine is celebrating the beauty and power of manhood.  The men on our list not only physically appealing but also possess an inner-energy that makes them men of outstanding accomplishment that has touched the lives of millions around the world.  A few of the men have made their physical ascension but their dynamic Spirits remains with us.

Malcolm X (El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz) rose from a world street crime to become minister with the Nation of Islam.  From there went on to become a human rights activist and global leader.  Before he made his ascension he started the Organization off Afro-American (OOAU). Time Magazine cited the Autobiography of Malcolm X as one of the most important books of the 20th century.

Bob Marley is a Jamaican singer, songwriter, musician, and Rastafarian.  His music is noted for speaking truth to power and giving voice to the poor and oppressed people throughout the world.  Marley’s message of empowerment continues with the Bob Marley Foundation whose mission is to eliminate poverty for developing nations, particularly Jamaica and Africa.

Tupac Amaru Shakur has sold over 75 million records making him one of the best-selling artists ever.  He was also a poet, avid reader, gifted actor and a committed social activist.  In honor of Tupac’s legacy, the TupacShakur Foundation (TASF) Amaru was established to provide “training and support for student who aspire to enhance their creative talents.”

Muhammad Ali is an Olympic gold medalist, 3-time World Heavyweight Champion who Sports Illustrated named “Sportsman of the Century.”  Since retiring from boxing Ali has been actively involved in humanitarian around the world.  In his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky stands the Muhammad Ali Center which focuses on “peace, social responsibility, respect and personal growth.”

Dr. Benjamin S. Carson is a world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon and the author of three best-selling books – Gifted Hands, The Big Picture and Think Big.  Carson is best known for performing the first successful surgical separation of twins joined at the tops of their heads.  Dr. Carson established Carson Scholars Fund whose aims is “to impact the nation is a positive way by cultivating future leaders who are not only intellectually talented but socially conscious.”

Rep. Melvin “Mel” L. Watt is a U.S. representative who is “one of only two African-Americans elected to Congress from North Carolina is the 20th century.”  Rep. Watt is a Phi Betta Kappa and Yale University Law School graduate is the former chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus and now serves on the House Financial Services Committee and House Judiciary Committee.

Dr. Terrence Roberts is one of the original Little Rock Nine who integrated Little Rock Central High School.  Dr. Roberts holds a Ph.D in psychology and runs a private practice and is the CEO of a management consulting firm.  He is also a civil rights activists, diversity consultant, frequent keynote speaker, and author.  He has penned two books – Lessons from Little Rock and Simple, Not Easy:  Reflections on Community, Social Responsibility, and Tolerance.

George C. Fraser is a CEO, author and speaker who advocates Black economic empowerment via networking.  As the Chairman and CEO of FraserNet, Inc. he “brings together diverse human resources to increase opportunities for people of African descent.  He’s the author of Success Runs in Our Race:  The Complete Guide to Effective Networking in the African-American Community.  Upscale Magazine named him one of the “Top 50 Power Brokers in Black America.”

Jimmy Jean-Louis is a Haitian born actor and model who has a starring role on the hit TV series Heroes.  He is the founder of Hollywood Unites for Haiti (HUFH.org).  The mission of the organization is to “promote  sports and cultural activities for underprivileged youth in Haiti.”  since the recent earthquake in Haiti Jean-Louis has flown to Haiti and personally delivered supplies and aided in the search and rescue efforts.

Michael Jackson…what can we say about this extraordinary man who hasn’t already been said.  Not only is Michael the Greatest Entertainer of all time but he also one of the Greatest Humanitarians.  He was and is an Angel.  Michael was God’s gift to the human family.  Michael LOVED the world, and in return, we LOVE you more Michael.

Real Talk Magazine continues our celebration of Black History Month and Black Love by celebrating 10 the most beautiful women in the world.

We are showcasing 10 women who are not only beautiful but who have made positive contribution to the human family.  Our élite list of women exemplify beauty, intelligence, class, glamor, style, sophistication, and excellence.

Aaliyah is no longer with us in the physical, but she remains with us in Spirit.  The gifted singer, dancer and actress was the embodiment of physical and spiritual beauty.

Toni Morrison is the first African-American woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature.   Ms. Morrison also won the Pulitzer Prize for her novel Beloved.  In 2002 scholar Molefi Kente Asante listed her among 100 Greatest African-Americans.

Diahann Carroll made television history when she starred in her TV series Julia.  This was the fist time an African-American starred in her own TV series in which she did not play a domestic.  She is a breast cancer activist and survivor.

Nancy Wilson is songstress whose singing style ranges from jazz and blues to pop and show tunes.   Among her numerous honors, she has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,  a Lifetime Achievement Award from the NAACP in Chicago, and Oprah Winfrey’s Legends Award.

B. Smith is a former fashion model who became the first African-American woman to grace the cover of Mademoiselle magazine.  She is also a successful entrepreneur, author, speaker, restaurateur, and lifestyle guru.  The B. Smith with Style Home Collection is the first line from an African-American woman sold at a nationwide retailer (Bed, Bath & Beyond).

Michelle Obama is a wife, mother and the first First Lady of the United States of African-American heritage.  She is also a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School.

Jurnee Smollett is an actress and singer who made a stunning début in the critically acclaimed film Eve’s Bayou.  She has gone on to star in several TV shows and films including The Great Debaters starring Denzel Washington and produced by Oprah Winfrey.  Ms. Smollet has been a HIV/AIDS activist since the age of 12.  She is also on the Board of Directors of the group Artists for a New South Africa, dedicated to dealing with HIV/AIDS in Africa.

Gelila Bekele is a model of Ethiopian heritage who has appeared in several runway shows, print ads and TV commercials (Pantene, Colgate).  But she is more than a pretty face.  Bekele is humanitarian and social activist.  She is involved with the Charity:  Water whose mission is to bring clean and safe drinking water to impoverished communities in Africa, India and South Africa.

Sanya Richards is a Jamaican-born track and field superstar is the fastest woman in the world.  She is the youngest woman to break the 49 second barrier at 400 meters.   Sanya has set new records and has won a vast array of medals including two Olympic gold medals.

Judge Glenda Hatchett is judge, author and speaker who is well-known as the star of the poplar, 2-time Emmy-nominated show “Judge Hatchett.”  After graduating from Emory University Law School, she went on to have a stellar corporate and legal career.  Ebony Magazine named her one of the “100 Best and Brightest Women in Corporate America.”  She also became Georgia’s first African-American Chief Presiding Judge of a state court and the department head of one of the largest juvenile court systems in the country.
